Beach Days

I was so glad that we had the chance to go back to the beach one last time this summer, this time with baby C and my family. We had a great time!
Packing with 2 kids was unbelievable...this is not even all of it of course, but it shows the mess!
Since I was up with baby C before the sun came up each morning (she didn't adjust too well not sleeping in her crib at home), I took the opportunity to capture a pretty sunrise. K was also a good daddy and took her for walks on the beach each morning in attempts to let CR sleep in without his sister waking him.

Those getting up too early mornings caught up with her at the beach later in the AM...she took good snoozes by the beach (perhaps because she hears the sound of the ocean all the time while sleeping in her crib thanks to her sound machine). K made this nice little "bed" for her and took her for a quick stroll when she got tired...she would go out in no time!

Our camp for the week! We had lots of fun times here!

Baby C loved her tadpole pool! Thanks Mema! It was great fun!

She also loved the kiddie pool and her "new" float handed down from Miss Starla. She thought she was so big because she could walk all around the baby pool in it.
CR loved having his daddy there to entertain him! There was not a moment that he didn't want him to be doing something. Here they are racing!

And here he is jumping from Daddy's shoulders. He has gotten so brave this summer...not afraid of doing anything in the water, which is quite the contrary of last summer. He loved wearing swimmies this year too and the new independence that allows. He is getting close to swimming without them. Too bad summer is almost over and he will not be able to practice much longer...maybe we will do swim lessons this winter.

The afterwards after jumping from Daddy's shoulders!
Playing "blastoff" he calls it (like the spaceship he says)

Baby C playing with her new toy...her toes! She loved playing with them and putting them in her mouth. She had lots of fun at the beach too! I was worried about taking her from her home environment that she is so used to and loves so much. I think the trip did her some good though...made her loosen up to getting out of her schedule some.

Each day we were greeted to a new sand sculpture by a person that was staying at our hotel/condo. He was AWESOME! He said they come each year and he has been doing them since his kids were little(now they are grown). It was neat to watch him make them and see his creations. The first day was a shark (I didn't get a pic of it since we got there so late in the day)

Yikes...we stayed up high (the 20th floor)...the highest I ever stayed. It took a little getting used to. This is a zoomed in shot from our balcony.
Out to eat at my favorite restaurant at the beach...Gulf Stream Cafe. I love the awesome atmosphere of dining on the inlet. (Excuse the pic and a few more blurry ones...my camera was reacting to the humidity)
He spent hours doing just this...I think the boy is a true beach bum...he could have stayed out there as long as we would let him

Baby C in the sand...she loved the ocean and the feel of the sand between her toes. She also tried to taste the sand (0f course)

Day 3 sand sculpture...this was CR's favorite!
We had a horrible storm roll in one afternoon. It was so neat to see it come in from afar. It wreaked some havoc on things though. It destroyed someones brand new pop-up tent, took out power in our condo for over an hour, and stranded CR and Mema in the elevator. Yes, that was not good. I was terrified. K and I were in an elevator beside them, but since ours was less full, we made it to our floor just in time for the power to go off. I scurried to get off before the door shut with us...I was determined not to be stranded in an elevator on the 20th floor. When I got to the room, CR and Mema were not there...I freaked out. All I could think about was him being in there and CR scared to death or the elevator dropping with them and them getting hurt. I felt so helpless! Thank goodness backup generators kicked in quickly and they were only in the dark stranded for a few minutes...I haven't been so happy to see my little boy in a long time.

Thank goodness this was the only bad weather we had...the rest of our time was great weather.

CR and Daddy having some fun on the beach!

They are such good pals!

Getting a stroll from big brother...he loves to push her around in the stroller

Tuckered out after a day of fun in the sun!

Granda and his best bud

We got a show each night...although pretty...it was very annoying as it didn't start until around 10 each night and they would go on til 12. It disturbed baby C on numerous occasions! I thought they were supposed to be illegal on the beach?!

My monkey man as we were leaving the beach.

Once again Baby C all tuckered out from her trip. We all had a great time, but we all are still recovering from all our fun in the sun!

Where Have I been?

I took the "facebook plunge" and I am struggling to keep up with both while trying to be mom, teacher, wife, and do all the tasks that go with each of these and more (not to include vacation thrown in the mix). Hopefully will be back soon with pics of vacation and more.
