Quarter of a Year Stats

My little girl is officially growing like a weed! I can't believe she is a "quarter of a year old" and growing/changing so quickly. I took her today for her 4 month visit, and I was hit hard with the realization of just how quickly things are changing for her.

Weight: 12 lbs. 14 oz.
Height: 24 1/4 inches
Head Circum.: 42.3

She is right on target with everything that she is supposed to be doing developmentally, except rolling over. I am not too concerned about this yet. Although I don't want to see her behind developmentally, I am sort of enjoying the fact that she hasn't started that yet (makes her changes/growing up not seem so quick).

She was also given the okay to start foods (cereal and stage 1). I guess we will be trying this soon...just as I was getting comfortable to our routine.

Girls Day Out

I am not normally a concert goer...I can't think of many people that I like to watch in person. However, when it comes to Kenny Chesney that is a different story. A dear friend of mine knew exactly what I needed for an early birthday present for a birthday I am not looking forward to...she bought she and I tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert in Greenville. It was WONDERFUL! It was so nice to have to day to enjoy myself without being mommy!

Chilling in the parking lot before the concert

Playing corn hole...my first time. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but it was fun.

In the concert...couldn't we pass as sisters?

Lady Antebellum opened up the concert. I love their songs on radio and music videos, but I was disappointed in their concert performance. All they did was stand there and sing with a backdrop that just changed colors. They could have at least walked out on the other stage already set up (t shaped). Maybe I am just spoiled to Kenny and his great performances.

Miranda Lambert was the next act before Kenny. She did a pretty good job...I am just not a big fan of hers...too much built up anger/aggression for me. I did like her pink guitar!

And then...the show! He always has such cool curtain drops.

A view from our seats before Kenny comes on.

Of course he had to come out in an extravagant way...he rode a chair through the floor section of the concert singing for an entire song.

No this is not how close I was...this was taken from the screen...it was a nice view though!
He puts on a great show and really seems to care about his fans...I get this from every concert that I have been to of his, meeting some of his band members this time, and even when I met him 2 years ago backstage. He seems like such a genuine guy!

We saw this guy playing with him coming out of his bus when walking to dinner. The crew/band member buses were parked lining the street headed to Main Street that we walked down to eat dinner. We met several of them....they were all nice.
This is the bus in his video "Out Last Night" parked along the street with his crew/band member buses
His percussion player...such a cool guy straight from the islands.

And this was the guy that I had my picture made with earlier...too cool.

THANKS AMANDA FOR AN AWESOME TIME!!!!! I OWE YOU BIG TIME!!!

Field Day

Thursday, I had the pleasure of taking off work and enjoying a childhood favorite of mine with CR and his preschool friends....FIELD DAY! This was the best day ever in my elementary years and I looked so forward to it as a wrap up to each school year. I was so excited to get to spend my first one with CR. I hope it will be a forever favorite memory for him as well. Miss Patty sure did an AWESOME JOB!

Thanks Miss Patty for a GREAT school year! CR has learned so much not only in "academics", but about himself and how to interact with others. We are surely blessed to have such an AWESOME teacher whom provides so many neat and unique opportunities for the kids. It makes me feel so great to see how much CR has progressed this year and hear him eager to go to your house each day (and misses it when he is not there). One of the many field day events...dragon tail chase (they had to chase each other to pull the dragon tail from each other). This was a great game and took a lot of their energy.

Field Day would not be complete without sack race. It was so cute to watch these little ones try to learn the fundamentals of these new games (many their first time playing)Go CR GO! He thought he had to go around every cone at the end instead of just his one. Bless his heart, because of this, he was in last place, but still did a great job and had so much fun!

This was always my favorite event...parachute popcorn.

Spoon egg relay...a hard one for this age. CR new that he had to hurry to try to win, but didn't quite understand that he had to keep his egg on the spoon in the process. Such cute eggs and spoons though...instead of the real deal (which would have been messy).

He finally got the hang of it (with a little cheating though)...better luck next year.

Balloon pop relay. It was so cute watching these little ones trying to get their balloons to pop by sitting on them. When that wouldn't work (since they are so little) it was neat to watch what other ways they tried to pop them.

What cute snacks...dirt cups (chocolate pudding with crushed Oreos on top with the addition of a cute flower and gummy worm). Some of the kids were not so sure about eating these once they heard the name...they couldn't get over the fact that they really were not eating dirt. Not CR though...go figure...the child will eat anything that doesn't eat him first.

I will have to remember this idea...it was so cute!

Bubble Fun!

Go Fish...I think a fave of CR.

Another event....bean bag toss

Another favorite of CR...he loves when Miss Patty pulls out the tumbling mats. He informed K and I this weekend that he is going to take gymnastics in the Fall, when it is too cold to swim or play baseball. That should be fun...dragging a 9 month old to a gym each week to watch her brother tumble, when she can't get down and crawl. Maybe by then he will change his mind, but if not, I guess we will do what we have to do...he is allowed to participate in one thing at a time, so I guess we will try this as his Fall event.

Such a cute activity...marble grab with your toes...the kids concentrated very hard on this one.

Before heading out to Field Day, I was able to see preschool "circle time" in action, which was really neat, since I hear about it a lot at home and I hear CR "reenact" it a lot at home.

CR sitting on his mat listening to his "classmates" take their turn in guessing the number of sweet potatoes in the jar (goes along with their study of garden veggies).

My Precious Children

I am reminded daily of just how blessed I am to have such precious children. Below are some their latest "doings"
The one thing (well one of the things) that I didn't want to have my children do and swore I do try to prevent has overridden my wish...baby C has fell in LOVE with her thumb. I hate it, due to fact that I dread/don't know how to break this habit once she is older, and know the damage it can do to her mouth. I must say though, it is so adorable watching her get that thumb in her mouth and watching as it makes her so happy/content. In the end, I guess it makes me happier too, as she knows how to soothe herself. I just dread the days of learning how to stop it before it ruins her teeth. It looks as if she knows I don't want her doing it and she is "giving me the eye" and trying to hide it. Yesterday K saw her doing it for the first time and he was certain to stop this habit. He took her thumb out of her mouth and you would have thought that he hurt her the way she carried on forever. I made him deal with her fit and hold her until she stopped. I bet he will not try doing that again!

My precious girl is getting so many rolls...it is so cute! Besides her double chin and leg rolls everywhere, her little hands are beginning to look "screwed on" to her arms and her feet are getting fat.

My sunshine! This is how she greets me each AM. She is such a happy baby in the mornings and usually wakes up "talking" and playing for a long time before I ever get her. Then I get greeted with the biggest smile...it melts my heart!
Scooter...is what she has become. She scoots on her belly now like an army crawl...I am not ready for the moving days, but she is SO determined! I love her little patch of hair in the back too...this and one little spot on the top is all she has. The new hair is slowly but surely coming back (and blond)...one day I hope she has enough hair for bows.
I guess she is going to be a gymnast...this is a favorite move of hers during tummy time now. She attempts to flip herself over the boppy.
One day I am sure I will turn around and she will be completely flipped over. Yikes...this scares me...I am so scared she is going to get hurt.
When she cries, it breaks my heart. She has the best "melt your heart" expressions. She sticks that little lip out and those eyes just melt me.

Her first trip to the pool (back when the days were blazing hot...not now). She liked the water on her feet (as far as I let her get in) for a few minutes and then she was over it. Hopefully she will grow to like it more this summer, since this is one of her brother's favorite hangouts.
CR is growing up so much. I remember it wasn't too long ago that he didn't know how to "play with others". Sure he would play with them, but not interact. Now it is on...he doesn't meet a stranger. He can go anywhere and make a friend and has the best time playing. Here, he and a team member run and play before a game.

The team...minus a few players that didn't show up for team pictures. Hopefully we will get another shot before the season is over of them all. CR is LOVING playing. He asks me daily when the next practice and game is.
It brightens my heart that not only is CR learning the fundamentals of baseball but also learning to love God and others in the process.
Chilling at a ballgame...she is such a good sport (most of the time) about just getting drug around here and there in support of her brother or things that he enjoys. They so adore each other! Her eyes brighten when she sees him and she does her best to talk and play with him. He was the first person to get a chuckle out of her. I hope their love for each other continues to grow and they have a strong bond!
Okay, so some may say I am a bad mom, but CR just went to the dentist for the first time a few weeks ago. He was such a good boy and did everything he was supposed to do! He got a great report on his teeth and he looks forward to going again!
